Babó Levente, a 45-year-old coach, has been appointed the new head coach of Puskás Akadémia, a notable move that sees him transition directly from youth development to Hungary's top professional league, NB I.

Levente has earned this opportunity through significant achievements in youth football. He led Puskás Akadémia's youth teams to the UEFA Youth League's round of 32 in two consecutive years. He also proudly notes that five young players were promoted to the senior squad in the past winter, with several making appearances for the NB I team or its reserve team, Csákvár. Levente stated, "Perhaps it's not immodest to say that no one at the club knows the eighteen-to-twenty-year-old age group better than I do." He believes this deep understanding of the younger players contributed to his appointment.

Looking ahead to the next season, Levente aims for Puskás Akadémia to play an initiating style of football. His philosophy involves pushing the defense up into the middle zone, focusing on creativity, and maintaining possession. While acknowledging these are guiding principles, he recognizes that their practical implementation remains to be seen. He mentioned being influenced by various coaching experiences, including insights gained from major Western clubs and specifically noted the approach at PSV Eindhoven as having a significant impact.
