Director Liang Zhi-min, founder of the Guts Theatre, has publicly voiced frustration over Kaohsiung's "fake typhoon" warnings, which led to the cancellation of their musical "The Most Beautiful 5 Minutes of My Life." This incident marks the third time the theater company has faced performance cancellations and financial losses in Kaohsiung due to what he describes as premature or unnecessary typhoon alerts.

Liang detailed his disappointment, noting that on the evening of the scheduled performance, the weather was clear with calm trees, contrary to the city's decision to suspend work and classes. He questioned the discrepancy between the weather information officials were using and what he observed. The cancellations result in significant costs for the theater company, including expenses for stage setup, dismantling, and lost ticket revenue.

This recurring issue has affected Guts Theatre's productions for over 13 years, including previous shows like "Goodbye Girl" and "Green Island Serenade." In response, the Weiwuying National Kaohsiung Center stated that they communicated closely with the performance team and fully respected their decision to cancel, emphasizing their commitment to supporting the team's choices regardless of the circumstances.
