Novi Sad Gymnasium Director Appointed Professor Without Scientific Publications, Parents Allege

A serious allegation has been leveled against Radivoje P. Stojković, the director of the prestigious Jovan Jovanović Zmaj Gymnasium in Novi Sad. Parents of students at the school have publicly stated that Stojković has been appointed an associate professor at a private Novi Sad university without a single published scientific work to his name. This claim directly contradicts the Serbian Law on Higher Education, which mandates that candidates must have published scientific papers to be considered for such academic positions.

The parents, who have meticulously checked both domestic and international scientific databases, assert that Stojković has no publications between 2015 and 2024. They are questioning the validity of his appointment and demanding that the FIMEK faculty, to which the private university belongs, make public all reports related to Stojković's academic advancement. Furthermore, they are calling on Stojković himself to provide a detailed explanation of how he achieved these professorial titles.

Adding another layer to this controversy, the parents pointed out that several professors from FIMEK had replaced professors from the University of Novi Sad who were teaching at the gymnasium. This particular school year marked the end of a long-standing collaboration between the gymnasium director and these University of Novi Sad professors. The parents' concerns highlight a potential breach of academic integrity and raise questions about the transparency and fairness of appointment processes within certain higher education institutions in Serbia.
