NSCDC arrests four suspected drug dealers in Kano

Nigeria’s Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested four suspected drug dealers in Gaida, in Kano State’s Kumbotso Local Government Area.

The arrests followed a covert operation by the corps’ Counter Terrorism Unit, based at Dorayi Babba in Gwale Local Government Area. The command’s public relations officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, confirmed the operation in a statement.

The suspects were identified as Abubakar Abdullahi, 35, Rabiu Baffa, 25, Aminu Lawan, 35, and Ibrahim Idris, 33. All were described as residents of Gaida.

Officials said officers recovered four sachets of Pregabalin 300mg capsules, commonly called “PG”; dozens of Diazepam tablets, locally known as “Fara”; three tubes of Oshin Solution, also called “Sholisho”; and three large packs and 20 parcels containing suspected marijuana.

Mohammed Agalama, the commandant of the NSCDC Kano Command, warned the public, especially young people, against the illegal sale, distribution and abuse of illicit drugs. He said the four suspects and the recovered items would be transferred to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s Kano Command after a preliminary investigation for further investigation and necessary legal action.
