NTU graduate Lin Qiaoyue promotes smart organic farming, earns Top 100 Young Farmers award

Lin Qiaoyue, a master's graduate from National Taiwan University, has earned recognition as one of Taiwan's top 100 young farmers for her innovative approach to smart organic agriculture. Returning to her hometown in Guansi Township, Hsinchu County, Lin has transformed her passion for farming into a successful enterprise.

With a background as a project and marketing manager at a prominent agricultural e-commerce platform, Lin possesses a deep understanding of supply chain integration, channel management, and market positioning. After marrying, she dedicated herself to organic strawberry cultivation for a decade, effectively applying her e-commerce and marketing skills to enhance farm operations. Her outstanding performance in organic agriculture and local industry promotion led to her selection for the 8th annual Top 100 Young Farmers award.

Lin's farm primarily cultivates organic strawberries, supplemented by wax apples in the summer. She has significantly boosted production efficiency and stabilized crop quality by integrating smart environmental control systems within greenhouses, intelligent irrigation equipment, and elevated cultivation techniques. Last year, she established a primary processing facility on her farm and obtained certification as a characteristic agricultural tourism site, launching her own processed brand, 'Berrimatch.'

Her strawberry jam has received a three-star rating from the ITQI International Taste Awards for two consecutive years, making it the only Taiwanese strawberry jam to achieve this distinction. Beyond her farm, Lin is actively involved in promoting collaboration among young farmers. As the vice president of the Hsinchu County Youth Farmers Association and founding president of its Guansi branch, she has facilitated an alliance of four local top young farmers to share resources in technology, materials, and marketing. This initiative supports contract farming of pesticide-free strawberries for processing, thereby expanding areas of eco-friendly cultivation. She also serves as a director for the 'Meili Village Leisure Agriculture Development Association,' fostering intergenerational cooperation and showcasing the potential of young farmers in integrated rural development.
