NU Conference 2026 to Formulate Solutions for Community Issues, Says Governor

East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa views the upcoming 2026 Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) National Conference (Munas Alim Ulama and Konferensi Besar) as a crucial platform for developing solutions to various problems affecting the Muslim community, the nation, and the state. As the Chairperson of the NU Supreme Council, she emphasized that the event transcends mere organizational consolidation, serving instead as a vital space to enhance NU's capacity in confronting the complexities of the modern era.

Parawansa highlighted the importance of the message from the Rais Aam (Supreme Leader), which serves as a reminder that upholding the organization's dignity requires not only maintaining integrity and morality but also demonstrating this through concrete service and direct benefit to the public. She believes the Rais Aam's directives will guide the entire Nahdlatul Ulama family in reinforcing the organization's role amidst evolving societal dynamics.

Looking ahead, Khofifah expressed confidence that the deliberations among the ulama (religious scholars) will yield significant decisions. These decisions, she anticipates, will bolster NU's contribution to social welfare, foster stronger bonds of brotherhood, and effectively address the multifaceted challenges currently confronting society.
