Nuevo León strengthens economic alliance with Texas, seeking investments

Governor Samuel Alejandro García Sepúlveda and the Nuevo León Council have undertaken a working tour in Austin, Texas, aiming to bolster investment projects and enhance regional competitiveness. The delegation, including Mariana Rodríguez Cantú and economic officials, held meetings with business leaders and representatives from Texas state agencies.

The tour is part of the Binational Nuevo León-Texas Strategy, designed to pinpoint shared sectors, capabilities, and opportunities to build a long-term collaboration. Governor García emphasized the strong connection between Nuevo León and Texas, highlighting their mutual growth and economic success over the past two decades. He specifically mentioned the new Gloria Colombia highway, Texas Highway 255, and the customs facilities as crucial infrastructure for this partnership.

During discussions with Opportunity Austin, the Governor underscored the similarities between the two regions' ecosystems, particularly in technology, the presence of global companies, and skilled talent. The aim is to expand investment and innovation opportunities that benefit both entities. Meetings also took place with leaders from the Texas Business Leadership Council (TBLC), focusing on consolidating supply chains and border infrastructure related to trade, energy, and specialized talent.

A significant announcement from the tour involves the creation of a new industrial hub in Gloria Colombia, located at the customs area. This zone is envisioned as a tax-free paradise with substantial incentives to attract businesses. Governor García expressed confidence that Nuevo León is "first place in everything" and that its connection with Texas, "the fastest-growing state in the world," will continue to deepen.

The collaboration aims to strengthen value chains and foster economic integration, particularly in industrial and manufacturing sectors. This strategic alliance seeks to leverage the complementary strengths of both regions to drive future economic development.
