Oakland Woman Says Scammers Posing as Charles Schwab Security Drained $12,145 Account

An Oakland woman says a frantic phone call from people posing as Charles Schwab security left her investment account empty, with $12,145 drained from it.

She denies sharing any information with the callers. Charles Schwab, however, said its investigation found that a verification code had been provided to a third party.

The woman is now taking the case to arbitration. She has also contacted police and the FBI.
