Obi Unveils 2027 Agenda, Vows to Personally Lead War Against Insecurity

Presidential candidate Peter Obi has outlined a comprehensive governance blueprint for Nigeria, should he win the 2027 election. In a national television interview, Obi detailed plans for a radically different approach, emphasizing a shift from a consumption-driven to a production-based economy, anchored in agriculture, manufacturing, and small business support.

Obi vowed to personally lead the charge against the nation's pervasive insecurity, promising to be visible, engaged, and directly involved in coordinating the country's response. He plans to regularly visit troubled communities and ensure security agencies receive adequate equipment, funding, and operational support. He stressed that poverty is the primary driver of insecurity, advocating for massive investments in education and job creation as sustainable solutions.

I will personally lead the fight against insecurity. I will be visible, engaged and directly involved. I will visit affected communities and ensure that our security architecture is properly equipped, adequately funded, and fully supported.

Furthermore, Obi reiterated his commitment to serve only a single four-year term, asserting that this period would be sufficient to set Nigeria on a path of sustainable development and restore public confidence. He also called on the current administration, led by President Bola Tinubu, to guarantee a free, fair, and credible election process.

His policy proposals come as political activities for the 2027 general election intensify, with opposition figures beginning to articulate their alternatives to the current administration's policies. Obi's vision aims to address critical issues of security, economy, and governance, positioning himself as a candidate offering a distinct path forward for Nigeria.
