At least three people died and more than 20 others sustained injuries in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Madhupur upazila, Tangail, Bangladesh, late last night. All the victims were passengers on the bus, according to Borhan Ali, Team Leader for the Madhupur Fire Service.

The accident occurred around 10:00 PM in the Raktipara area. Fire service personnel responded quickly, initiating a rescue operation. Two women and a child were among the deceased who died at the scene. The injured were transported to Madhupur Upazila Health Complex, with critically injured individuals referred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital and other facilities.

Authorities have confirmed that the bodies of the three deceased are being held at the hospital while identification efforts are underway. The truck involved in the collision fled the scene, according to Borhan Ali. Madhupur Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Anwar Hossain stated that efforts are ongoing to identify the victims and that eight injured individuals are receiving treatment locally, while others with severe injuries have been transferred for specialized care.
