A tragic incident in Sylhet has resulted in the death of a Sylhet City Corporation worker and critically injured two others due to electrocution. The accident occurred on Sunday noon while the workers were cleaning the roof of the Chhararpar Jame Mosque in the city's Chhararpar area.

The deceased has been identified as Naim, aged 20, from the Shekhghat Bhangatikorpara area. The injured workers, identified as Apu and Al-Amin, are also from the same locality. The group of four laborers was engaged in cleaning the mosque's roof around 12:00pm when the accident took place, according to Khan Muhammad Mainul Zakir, Officer-in-Charge of Sylhet Kotwali Model Police Station.

Preliminary reports suggest that the victims came into contact with a live electric line through some iron rods they were using. This contact proved fatal for Naim, who died at the scene, and left the other two workers in critical condition. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the electrocution.
