The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has apprehended a suspect in connection with the killing of a co-worker in Ashulia, Bangladesh. The arrestee, identified as Al-Amin, is accused of murdering Kamrul Khan, 44, following an altercation over money. Both individuals hailed from the Terokhada upazila in Khulna and had known each other since childhood.

The PBI Dhaka District unit announced that they had successfully solved the murder case within 24 hours of taking charge of the investigation. Authorities identified the victim and recovered the weapon believed to have been used in the commission of the crime. The investigation began after the house owner alerted police to a decomposed body found in a locked room in Ashulia's Basaid area on August 16.

Kamrul's cousin, Jamil Sheikh, filed a murder case with the Ashulia Police Station against unidentified individuals on August 17. The PBI Dhaka District took over the case the same day. According to the PBI, Kamrul and Al-Amin had traveled from Khulna to Ashulia on August 8 in search of employment. They rented a room together and had begun working as masons prior to the incident.
