U.S. Special Envoy to South and Central Asia, Ambassador Sergio Gor, arrived in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon for a significant three-day visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and addressing regional issues. The U.S. Embassy in Dhaka confirmed his arrival via a Facebook post, highlighting the importance of his trip.

During his stay, Ambassador Gor is slated to engage in high-level discussions with key Bangladeshi government officials. His itinerary includes meetings with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman. These talks are expected to focus on enhancing the strategic partnership between the U.S. and Bangladesh, bolstering regional security, and deepening economic cooperation.

A crucial part of Ambassador Gor's visit will be his trip to the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox's Bazar. This visit underscores the U.S. commitment to addressing the ongoing humanitarian crisis and supporting efforts to find a sustainable solution for the displaced Rohingya population.
