Police in Jhalakathi, Bangladesh, are investigating the death of a woman found bound and gagged inside her home. The deceased, identified as Molina Roy, 45, was discovered Friday night with her hands and legs tied with rope and her head covered with a sack.

The body was recovered from the ground floor of a three-story building in the town's T&T area around 8:00 PM. According to the Jhalakathi Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), Md Mahmud Hasan, the incident occurred while all the occupants of the building had left to attend a religious function in the Bhimruli area.

Relatives found Molina Roy's body upon their return and immediately informed the police. The OC stated that initial investigations suggest the house was targeted by thieves. "Primary investigation suggests that thieves entered the building and looted valuables from the house," Hasan said.

Police believe the woman may have been killed after recognizing the intruders or attempting to resist the theft. Authorities are actively working to identify those involved and ensure they are brought to justice.
