Odiseja Dominates Slovenian Box Office in Opening Weekend

Christopher Nolan's highly anticipated film "Odiseja" (The Odyssey) has made a commanding debut at the Slovenian box office, capturing two-thirds of all cinema attendance over the weekend. The film, featuring Matt Damon in the lead role, has not only been a local success but also marks Nolan's most successful cinema opening worldwide.

In its first weekend, "Odiseja" drew more than 20,000 viewers in Slovenia. This strong performance places it among the top openings of the year, surpassed only by the Balkan hit "Ohcet," which has amassed a total of 163,700 viewers since its release. Despite "Ohcet" no longer being in the top ten, its overall audience remains impressive.

Another surprising success is the biographical film "Michael," which is nearing 64,000 viewers. "Odiseja" and "Minioni" are currently showing on 27 screens, while "Vaiana" occupies 35 screens, making its third-place ranking somewhat less remarkable given the screen distribution. "Odiseja" is averaging approximately 760 viewers per screen, significantly outperforming "Minioni" with just over 185 viewers per screen.

The horror film "Obsedenost" (Obsession) is also performing well, securing fourth place despite being shown on only four screens. It has garnered nearly 20,000 viewers in over two and a half months. Overall cinema attendance for the weekend reached 33,404, more than double the previous weekend's figures, indicating a robust resurgence in moviegoing.
