"Odyssey" Continues Box Office Reign, Becomes Nolan's Top Earner Globally and in North America

Christopher Nolan's epic film "Odyssey" is continuing its impressive box office run, securing a triple crown as the highest-grossing film globally, in North America, and in Taiwan. The movie earned an additional $19.5 million in North America over its sixth weekend (August 21-23), marking only a 17% drop from the previous week and holding strong at third place in weekend rankings.

With a cumulative North American gross of $539 million and a global total exceeding $1.446 billion, "Odyssey" has officially become director Christopher Nolan's most commercially successful film in both territories. It has also surpassed "Deadpool & Wolverine" to become the highest-grossing R-rated film in cinematic history.

Beyond its overall success, "Odyssey" has set records within the IMAX format, achieving the highest box office gross in the format's history. Globally, its earnings have surpassed "The Dark Knight Rises," making it Nolan's top-earning film worldwide, unadjusted for inflation. In North America, it has overtaken "The Dark Knight" to become his highest-grossing film in that region.

In Taiwan, "Odyssey" continues to demonstrate strong financial performance, with an estimated box office exceeding NT$370 million (approximately $11.7 million USD). This figure also surpasses "The Dark Knight Rises," establishing "Odyssey" as Nolan's highest-grossing film in Taiwan. The film remains in wide release across Taiwan.
