Ogun Monarch Honours PDP Governorship Candidate Ladi Adebutu and His Wife

Ladi Adebutu, the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate in Ogun State, has received a traditional title from the Owu Kingdom, pledging to use the honour to promote development across the kingdom and the state.

Adebutu was installed as Gbademu of Owu Kingdom on Tuesday at the palace of the Olowu of Owu Kingdom in Abeokuta. Traditional rulers, political leaders, family members, friends and other dignitaries attended the ceremony. His wife, Adenike Adebutu, was installed as Yeye Gbademu.

We will use this title to bring development, not only to Owu Kingdom, but also to Egba and Ogun State at large. This honour comes with a responsibility, and we will do our best to justify the confidence reposed in us.

Adebutu thanked the Olowu and the people of Owu Kingdom for the recognition. He said the honour represented more than a traditional title and carried a responsibility to serve the community and state. He also highlighted his family’s longstanding roots in Abeokuta, saying that connection made the recognition particularly meaningful.

This is not just a title; it is a call to service. Together, we will continue to support the growth and development of our people and contribute positively to the progress of Owu Kingdom.

The Olowu, Oba Saka Matemilola, presented certificates to the newly installed Gbademu and Yeye Gbademu. He described Adebutu as a person of unquestionable character whose commitment and contributions to society informed the decision to honour him.
