Ogun State Urges Residents to Protect Grassroots Infrastructure

Ogun State officials have issued a strong call to action for rural residents, urging them to actively protect the public infrastructure recently provided by the government. The initiative aims to ensure the longevity and effective use of these facilities, which are designed to enhance the quality of life at the grassroots.

We urge the people of Yewa North to use these facilities judiciously and ensure that they are properly maintained.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, represented by the Permanent Secretary Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, highlighted the importance of community involvement during the inauguration of several developmental projects in the Yewa North Local Government Area. These projects, spearheaded by the Dr. Olusola Akinbode-led administration, include a newly constructed Primary Health Centre with equipment and a borehole in Igbokofi, Ayetoro; the Atokun Kara Market in Saala-Orile; and furnished classroom blocks at Igan-Alade and Ebute-Igboiro.

Additionally, the local government area has seen the renovation of a town hall and shopping complex in Ayetoro, the construction of lock-up shops in Igbogila, the provision of office equipment, distribution of solar lights, and the erection of a perimeter fence around the local government secretariat. Commissioner Hamzat commended the local government leadership for aligning with the state's developmental agenda.

He stressed that for these government facilities to serve their intended purpose, communities must take ownership and ensure their proper maintenance.
