Okpebholo mocks Adeleke’s dancing, urges Osun voters to take rivals’ cash, vote APC

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo launched a sharp critique of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke's leadership style, particularly mocking his frequent dancing. Speaking at an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally for governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji, Okpebholo urged Osun voters to collect money from opposing parties but ultimately cast their ballots for the APC.

He also drew parallels between Adeleke and former Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, urging voters to reject both, referencing Obaseki's removal from office in Edo.

That man is Obaseki’s friend. You know we kicked Obaseki out of Edo. So, we have to kick his friend out of this place too. A lot of people ‘chopped’ Obaseki’s money, but they never voted for him.

Okpebholo's campaign message also included advice on handling potential financial inducements from rivals. "If they bring money, ‘chop’ that money from them, but don’t vote for them," he told supporters, encouraging them to accept cash while remaining loyal to the APC. This strategy aims to undermine opposition funding while securing the APC's vote.

Further criticizing the state's infrastructure, Okpebholo commented on the poor road conditions, humorously asking if the bumpy ride was due to a "dancing road or the dancing governor’s road?" He concluded by rallying the crowd to embrace change and vote for the APC, asking, "Osun, are we ready to make a change? Are we ready to say bye-bye to dancing?"
