Olimpia Kicks Off Preparations for Second Half of Season

Olimpia, the reigning champion of Paraguayan football, is set to commence its preparations for the upcoming season on Tuesday, June 14. The team will conduct much of its mid-season training at the Villa de Fernando de la Mora, with plans for international friendlies to follow.

The club's sole new acquisition will be experienced Argentine forward Braian Ezequiel Romero, 34, who most recently played for Vélez Sarsfield. While Romero is the only confirmed signing, several players are returning to the squad. Confirmed returns include Alexis Cantero, Víctor Sebastián Quintana, and Pedro Zarza. Additionally, players like Paulo Riveros and Julio Alexis Vargas, who were on loan at Fortaleza and Atlético Mineiro respectively, will be under observation.

The team's Clausura championship campaign kicks off on Friday, July 24, with a highly anticipated classic match against Libertad. In the Copa Sudamericana, Olimpia will face the winner of the series between Vasco da Gama and Deportivo Independiente Medellín in the round of 16.
