Olympiacos: Preparation begins with an eye on the new season – Full schedule released

After a historic season, the Olympiacos basketball team is commencing its preparations for the upcoming season, aiming to maintain its dominance in Greece and Europe. Head coach Giorgos Bartzokas awaits his players for the initial physical assessments.

The team's schedule includes training sessions and a series of demanding friendly games, both domestically and internationally. These matches will serve as crucial tests before the official competitions begin. The initial phase of preparation will take place at the auxiliary court of the Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF) as the main arena is closed for renovations.

Several Olympiacos internationals will be absent from the early stages of training as they are on duty with their national teams. Players like Papanikolaou, Vezenkov, Larentzakis, Nezikoglou, Dorsey, Milutinov, Karagiannidis, Montero, Ediaye, and Fournier are among those who will miss the start.

The detailed preparation schedule includes ergometric tests on August 20, medical examinations on August 21, a friendly match on August 30, the 6th Crete International Basketball Tournament from September 4-6, and the International Basketball Tournament Cyprus from September 11-13. The team will also participate in the Euroleague Super Cup in mid-September and begin their Euroleague season with games against Baskonia, Zalgiris Kaunas, and Virtus Bologna in late September and early October.
