Olympiacos Signs Defender Alexandros Alamános for Men's Water Polo Team

Olympiacos has bolstered its men's water polo roster with the acquisition of Alexandros Alamános, the club officially announced.

The Greek defender makes the move to Piraeus after a seven-year tenure with Apollon Smyrnis, where he played since 2018. During his time there, Alamános was instrumental in the team's successes, most notably contributing to their victory in the LEN Challenger Cup during the 2022-23 season. His experience and defensive quality are expected to significantly enhance Olympiacos's backline.

Olympiacos S.F.P. announced the signing of the 26-year-old defender, who was born on March 3, 2000, and stands at 1.97 meters. Alamános signed his new contract and officially joined the men's water polo squad. From 2018 until last season, he competed for Apollon Smyrnis, securing a European title in the LEN Challenger Cup (2022-23).

This marks Alamános's second stint with Olympiacos, as he previously spent two years in the club's youth divisions. In 2018, he achieved a significant milestone by winning the World Championship with the Greek U18 national team. Alamános also previously played for Ydraikos from 2017-18.
