Olympiacos signs Dimitris Panagiotou for handball team

Olympiacos has bolstered its men's handball roster with the acquisition of Dimitris Panagiotou, a move described as a significant reinforcement and one of the most notable transfers in Greek handball.

The 22-year-old playmaker is considered one of Greece's top talents in his position and is a crucial player for the national team. Panagiotou has showcased his quality and performance, achieving notable successes both domestically and internationally.

He joins Olympiacos after a two-year stint with AEK, where he won a Greek Cup. Prior to that, he played for ASE Doukas from 2021 to 2024. Panagiotou has represented Greece at various levels, including qualifying for the 2027 World Championship and participating in Euro 2025. He also competed in the 2023 U21 World Championship and the B category European Championship, where he earned a fourth-place finish.

His past achievements include a bronze medal at the B category European Championship in Israel with the U18 national team, where he was named the best playmaker and MVP of the tournament. He was also recognized by the EHF for the 'Respect Your Talent' program, highlighting top young handball players in Europe.
