Oman and Rwanda deepen ties through air links and logistics partnership

Oman and Rwanda are building closer economic ties around a new air link, logistics cooperation and emerging technologies, according to an infographic from Oman’s Ministry of Economy.

An air services agreement came into effect in January 2026, followed by the launch of SalamAir’s first direct flights between Muscat and Kigali in July. The ministry said the developments had strengthened bilateral ties and connected the two countries more closely with their wider regions.

The cooperation also covers artificial intelligence, telecommunications, cloud computing, airport management and the operation of dry ports. Oman has identified six promising investment areas: tourism and hospitality, agriculture, mining, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, technology and telecommunications, and economic zones and basic infrastructure.

Rwanda is being presented as a gateway to investment in East Africa, with a business environment and regional access for Omani investors. The initiatives fit Oman Vision 2040 and its effort to broaden international economic partnerships, improve logistics links and diversify investment opportunities beyond traditional markets.
