Oman Camel Racing Federation launches annual programme for 2026/2027 season

Oman’s Camel Racing Federation has announced its annual programme for the 2026/2027 season, with races and festivals scheduled across the Sultanate’s governorates.

The programme begins on 29 September 2026 with races in Barka, in South Al Batinah Governorate, and Adam, in A’Dakhiliyah Governorate. Five consecutive races will take place in Barka and Adam through 3 December, followed by additional supported races running until March 2027.

The schedule also includes the Thumrait competitive race from 13 to 19 November 2026 and events focused on camel beauty and characteristics. The federation’s annual festival is set for 3 to 7 January 2027 and will bring together camel owners, trainers, and enthusiasts from across Oman.

Occidental Oman and Oman Shell will support races in concession areas spanning Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah, and Al Wusta governorates. The federation said the programme supports traditional sport while helping camel owners and trainers develop and preserve camel breeds.
