Oman Olympic Committee organizes forum for athletes participating in Asian Games

The Oman Olympic Committee, through its Omani Athletes Committee, has organized an Elite Forum for athletes preparing to compete in the 20th Asian Games, scheduled for September 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya. The initiative aims to bolster the athletes' preparedness by equipping them with essential knowledge and information for their participation and representation of the Sultanate of Oman.

The forum covered a range of critical areas, including sports, administrative, health, psychological, and legal aspects relevant to major sporting events. Discussions focused on athletes' rights and duties within the Olympic Movement, promoting a safe sports environment, raising awareness about anti-doping regulations, and enhancing psychological well-being and stress management techniques. Athletes were also briefed on administrative procedures, travel arrangements, and the protocols for officially representing Oman.

Oman is set to compete in the Games with ten national teams across disciplines such as athletics, taekwondo, shooting, hockey, golf, fencing, cricket, weightlifting, sailing, and beach volleyball. The forum included presentations, awareness sessions, and panel discussions designed to address the multifaceted needs of the athletes as they approach the major competition.

Concluding with an interactive panel discussion, the forum provided a platform for athletes to engage directly with the Omani Athletes Committee and other relevant entities. This exchange allowed athletes to voice inquiries, discuss challenges, and articulate their needs, fostering a collaborative approach to ensuring their optimal readiness for the Asian Games.
