Oman Police Enhance Security for Khareef Dhofar Season

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) is bolstering security and traffic management for the annual Khareef Dhofar season, anticipating a surge in visitors. The force is increasing its field presence with patrols and checkpoints across key areas and main roads to ensure a safe environment.

The Royal Oman Police has reinforced its intensive field presence by deploying patrols and security checkpoints in various locations and main roads in response to all developments.

Colonel Salem bin Mohammed Al Kaf, Assistant Commander of the Dhofar Governorate Police, emphasized the ROP's commitment to readiness and performance. He highlighted the establishment of multiple security checkpoints to enhance rapid response, reduce accidents, and assist tourists. The Wadi Harit Police Station is specifically tasked with educating visitors on safe driving in mountainous and foggy conditions.

In order to enhance rapid response to various reports, reduce traffic accidents, and provide guidance and assistance to tourists and road users traveling to Dhofar Governorate, the Royal Oman Police has established security checkpoints at multiple locations.

Lieutenant Colonel Sulaiman bin Saeed Al Hatali, Director of Operations at the Dhofar Governorate Police Command, outlined the plan's focus on main roads, event venues, and tourist sites. The operations center functions 24/7 to address reports and provide assistance. Additionally, Lieutenant Colonel Khalifa bin Juma Al-Qwaiti, Assistant Commander of the Special Tasks Unit in Salalah, noted the unit's role in supporting other teams and the deployment of a motorcycle force for swift intervention in rugged terrain and open areas, expanding security coverage.
