Oman's Al Juma elected Arab Hockey Federation president

Oman's Marwan Al Juma has been elected President of the Arab Hockey Federation, securing the position for the 2026-2030 term. The decision, made during the federation's General Assembly in Muscat on Friday, also designates the Omani capital as the new headquarters for the regional sports body.

The General Assembly saw participation from key figures, including International Hockey Federation (FIH) President Tayyab Ikram and delegates from ten Arab nations. Notable outcomes included the approval of Bahrain and Iraq as new member federations. The assembly also ratified the federation's financial report and its work program for the upcoming four years.

Following his election, Al Juma declared the moment marked the beginning of a new era for Arab hockey. "We will work collectively with all our member federations to strengthen the game across the Arab world, build on our shared experience and enhance the federation’s standing at both the continental and international levels," he stated. He extended his gratitude to the member federations for their trust and acknowledged FIH President Ikram's presence as a significant endorsement of Arab hockey's future.

The newly formed executive board includes Eng Mohammed Al Mandeel from Saudi Arabia as First Vice-President and Tamer Hosny from Egypt as Second Vice-President. Saad Al Maamari also serves as Vice-President, with Madin Ahmed Beit Habza as Secretary-General and Majid Al Houti as Assistant Secretary-General. The executive committee comprises Musab Al Hadi, Khalil Yassin, and Abed Awan, with Rudaina Al Hajri representing women in the sport.
