Oman's beach handball team set for ninth World Championships appearance

Oman's national beach handball team is gearing up for their ninth appearance at the Men's Beach Handball World Championships, set to take place in Croatia from June 23 to 28. The team aims to build on their past successes, including a fourth-place finish in 2004.

Our national beach handball team is participating in the Men's Beach Handball World Championships, hosted by Croatia from June 23 to 28.

Led by national coach Hamoud bin Salem Al-Hasani, the squad of ten players has been preparing rigorously. Their journey includes an overseas training camp in Croatia, featuring a friendly tournament from June 19 to 21. This preparatory phase will pit them against teams like Croatia, Iran, Australia, and the United States, offering crucial competitive experience.

This marks the team's ninth appearance in the tournament, and they are aiming to continue their strong presence on the world stage and achieve positive results in this international event.

The team's preparation began in March with training camps and participation in the Asian Beach Games in China. This comprehensive approach is designed to ensure the players are in peak technical and physical condition for the World Cup.

The tournament will feature the national teams of Croatia, Iran, Australia, and the United States, and will serve as a final preparatory stage aimed at enhancing the players' technical and physical readiness and providing them with further competitive experience before the World Cup.

Oman has been drawn into Group D alongside host nation Croatia, France, and Australia. Their opening match is scheduled against Croatia on June 23, followed by games against France and Australia on the same day and the following day, respectively. The tournament format includes a preliminary round-robin, with the top three teams from each group advancing to the main round and subsequent knockout stages.

The team will begin its campaign against Croatia on June 23 at 3:00 PM Muscat time, followed by a match against France at 11:00 PM the same day. They will conclude their first-round matches against Australia on June 24 at 3:00 PM.
