Oman, Turkey explore explore investment opportunities in urban projects

Oman's Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning recently concluded an official visit to Turkey, seeking to expand cooperation in housing, urban planning, and real estate investment. The visit aimed to bolster private sector involvement in major urban development projects within the Sultanate.

The Omani delegation, led by Minister Dr. Khalfan bin Saeed Al Shuaili, included representatives from key economic and real estate entities. Their itinerary featured extensive government meetings, investment discussions, and site visits across Turkey. This initiative directly supports Oman's national objectives of constructing sustainable cities and enhancing the real estate sector's economic impact.

During the visit, over 20 meetings and networking sessions took place with Turkish government officials, investors, developers, and financial institutions. Discussions focused on Oman's strategic urban development projects, including future cities and integrated residential areas. Turkish companies were presented with Oman's investment climate, legal framework, and incentives, exploring opportunities for their participation in Omani urban projects. Cooperation in areas like real estate development, project management, advanced construction technologies, and digital transformation was also discussed.

Both nations reviewed investment-related issues such as off-plan property sales, real estate financing, foreign ownership rules, and investment guarantees. The aim was to improve the investment ecosystem and foster sustainable partnerships between the private sectors of Oman and Turkey. Field visits provided the Omani delegation with insights into Turkey's successful urban regeneration, mixed-use developments, and tourism projects, facilitating knowledge transfer for Oman's own urban development endeavors.
