Omar McFarlane named CEO of Pure National Limited

Pure National Limited, Jamaica's premier ice manufacturer, has appointed Omar McFarlane as its new chief executive officer. McFarlane, who previously held the position of operations manager for the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), brings a wealth of experience in business operations and leadership to the role.

His appointment marks a significant step in the company's comeback following a devastating fire in November 2024 that destroyed its Kingston production plant. The incident forced Pure National to import ice to meet demand, but the company has since invested approximately $400 million into rebuilding efforts. This includes the installation of a new 70-ton Paktol ice maker, designed to enhance production capacity beyond pre-fire levels.

McFarlane's career is characterized by a proven ability to drive results in both the business and sports sectors. As president and owner of Arc Electric, Inc., he gained extensive experience in managing operations and building a company from the ground up. His tenure at the JFF saw him progress from youth ambassador to general team manager and finally to operations manager, where he served as a crucial link between players, coaches, clubs, and stakeholders, overseeing strategic planning, logistics, and national team administration.
