Ondo APC Elders Urge Unity for Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election

The elders of Nigeria’s All Progressives Congress in Ondo State have warned party members against treating every political dispute as a contest over who won, who lost or who controls the party.

Demola Ijabiyi, chairman of the APC Elders Forum, made the appeal at a meeting in Akure, the state capital. He said the group’s responsibilities included advising and cautioning members while promoting peace, unity and political stability within the party.

He urged members to direct their energy toward mobilization, reconciliation and expanding Tinubu’s support base. Every tendency that can bring votes, he said, should be accommodated, while genuine supporters and leaders capable of mobilizing people should receive a role.

Ijabiyi also expressed concern about reactions to the announcement of the campaign structure, including an article written by a supporter of the state governor. He said political disagreement was normal in a democracy, but warned that debate must have limits.
