Ondo varsity VC pledges to tackle infrastructure deficit

Professor Tomola Obamuyi, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University in Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, has pledged to tackle the institution's significant infrastructure challenges. His administration aims to implement innovative and sustainable funding strategies to address these deficits.

Obamuyi, who assumed office last week, stated his commitment to improving existing facilities and finding practical solutions. "Our administration is now focused on providing practical solutions to the institution’s challenges," he said. "Having gone round, my impressions are good, but we need to improve on what we have on the ground."

The vice-chancellor has initiated discussions with principal officers, department heads, and other stakeholders to articulate his vision for the university's development. He has also directed relevant units to address identified areas of concern, setting clear deadlines for their execution. "I have directed all concerned units, and I have given them deadlines. When I give instructions, I monitor them. We are going to be seeing some changes very soon," Obamuyi assured.

He expressed confidence that these measures will lead to visible improvements in the university's infrastructure and overall administration in the coming weeks. Obamuyi's appointment was made by Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
