One Dead, Four Injured in Balcony Collapse at Under-Construction Building in Marsa Matruh

A tragic incident occurred in the Sidi Abdel Rahman area of Marsa Matruh, Egypt, when a balcony on an under-construction building collapsed, resulting in one fatality and four injuries.

The victims were rushed to El Alamein General Hospital to receive necessary medical care. The deceased has been identified as Tharwat Sami Ezzat El Sayed. Among the injured are Magdy Ahmed Mahmoud, who sustained a suspected concussion, a double fracture of the right thigh, and suspected abdominal bleeding; Ahmed Abdel Ghani Abdullah Askar, with a fractured left leg; Mohamed Aboud Abdel Aziz, suffering from severe back bruising and general contusions; and Ahmed Dahshoury Mahmoud, who sustained scattered bruises and abrasions.

Medical teams at El Alamein General Hospital confirmed that the condition of the injured is stable following examinations. The body of the deceased has been placed in the morgue pending further investigation by the prosecution and the health inspector. A report has been filed to initiate legal proceedings.

Governor of Marsa Matruh, Major General Mohamed El Zamlot, is closely monitoring the situation after receiving a report from the ambulance authority. He has ordered an urgent inspection of the building to ensure its structural soundness and a review of all construction permits. The governor emphasized the need to take all necessary legal actions against any violations to protect citizens' lives and safety.
