One Month Left to Apply for Chevening Scholarships for the 2027-28 Academic Year

Applicants have one month left to apply for the UK government’s Chevening Scholarships for the 2027-28 academic year. Applications must be submitted through chevening.org/apply by 6 October 2026 at 2 p.m. Beirut time.

Lebanese citizens and Palestinians residing in Lebanon can apply under the Lebanon scheme in any subject area. The program provides fully funded master’s degrees at UK universities and connects recipients with an international network of future leaders.

Lebanon also receives the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies Chevening Fellowship. It gives mid-career academics and professionals the opportunity to conduct five months of independent research at the University of Oxford on Islam, Muslim societies and their role in a global context.

The scheme includes several local partnerships. For the sixth year, the Chevening-Siren Associates Scholarship will provide one award to a Lebanese national, or a Palestinian normally resident in Lebanon, for a master’s degree in governance, international development, human rights or public financial management and administration at one of the UK’s top 20 universities.

For the third year, the Chevening-Raffy Manoukian Scholarship will offer up to three awards for study in information systems, artificial intelligence, computer science, STEM and similar subjects at one of the UK’s top 10 universities. The Chevening-Rebecca Dykes Scholarship, offered by the British Embassy in Beirut since 2017, provides one award to a woman studying a related field, including gender studies, peace and conflict studies, development and human rights, or refugee and migration studies.

A British Embassy statement said, “For over 40 years, Chevening has supported outstanding individuals with leadership potential to study in the UK.” It said the program gives future leaders the skills, knowledge and connections to address global challenges and drive positive change.
