One Police Officer Killed, Another Injured in Terrorist Attack in Pakistan's Bajaur

A police officer was martyred and another wounded in a terrorist attack on a police post in Bajaur district's Barang tehsil early Friday. The district police spokesperson, Mansoor Khan, reported that a group of terrorists targeted the police post in the Kohi Sar area using rocket launchers and small weapons.

Police personnel at the post responded immediately, engaging the attackers in a firefight that lasted for several hours. Two officers were wounded during the exchange. Constable Zahir Shah succumbed to his injuries while being transported to a local hospital. Head Constable Amir Zada, the other injured officer, is reported to be out of danger.

"The police personnel at the post bravely retaliated and successfully foiled the terrorists’ nefarious design," the spokesperson stated. Funeral prayers for the martyred officer were held at Police Lines in Khar. The incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region, with law enforcement facing persistent threats from militant groups.
