One tap to flag labor violations

Kuwait's Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has introduced a new digital service, 'Report,' accessible through the Sahel application, enabling citizens and residents to report labor violations online. This initiative aims to streamline the process of identifying and addressing infringements within PAM's jurisdiction.

The service is designed to facilitate the rapid detection and handling of violations.

Mohammed Al-Muzaini, PAM's Director of Public Relations and Media, stated that the service empowers the public to actively participate in monitoring and combating negative practices that could harm Kuwait's reputation. It also facilitates follow-up on labor and humanitarian issues. Nadia Al-Hamad, PAM Public Relations and Media Supervisor, noted the service's launch coincided with the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, emphasizing its role in supporting PAM's oversight efforts and promoting labor market compliance.

Al-Hamad stressed that the confidentiality of whistleblowers' information is strictly maintained. Specialized teams, under the direct supervision of PAM's Director General Engineer Rabab Al-Osaimi, review and verify reports before taking necessary actions. PAM has already seen a positive response, with numerous reports submitted, reflecting community awareness regarding the protection of the labor market and safeguarding rights.

Whistleblowers’ information is kept strictly confidential and is not disclosed.

Zainab Makki, Head of the Database Department at PAM, detailed the reporting process. Users can access the service via 'Sahel Individuals,' log in, select the 'Report' service, specify the violation type, and provide a detailed description. Attaching a photo of the violation is also possible. Makki highlighted the importance of clear and accurate information for prompt responses and efficient inspection procedures. Reported violations encompass issues related to domestic worker recruitment offices, unlicensed workers and companies, and employing workers during the prohibited midday hours (11:00 am to 4:00 pm).

Users can attach a photo of the violation and submit the report directly to PAM.
