Online Cargo Driver Attacked in West Bandung; Suspect Arrested in Depok

A 48-year-old online cargo driver was the victim of a violent robbery attempt in Bandung Barat, West Java, on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Although the perpetrator failed to steal the victim's Toyota Calya vehicle, the driver sustained multiple stab wounds.

The incident occurred around 8:20 PM in Kampung Cintaasih, Cipatat District. The victim, identified by the initials IS, was reportedly attacked by a suspect named Abdul Fakih, also known as Pacul, aged 27. The suspect had ordered a delivery service through an online platform.

According to the Head of Cimahi Police, AKBP Niko Nurallah Adi Putra, the suspect and victim departed from Bandung City terminal with the destination being Desa Gunung Masigit in Cipatat. The suspect claimed he needed to pick up goods at a nutrition fulfillment service point. After the victim waited for approximately 30 minutes, the suspect suddenly entered the car from the left side and attacked the driver.

There was an attempted robbery with violence in Gunungmasigit. The victim was a driver for an online cargo application.

The suspect allegedly used a sickle-like weapon, stabbing the victim in the abdomen and also striking his left hand multiple times. The victim's clothing was also reportedly cut once.

Following the attack, police launched an investigation and successfully apprehended the suspect, Abdul Fakih, in Depok. The motive appears to have been robbery, though the vehicle was not successfully taken.
