Onn Hafiz awaits official invitation from Anthony Loke for commuter program

Johor Menteri Besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi has confirmed his willingness to join Transport Minister Anthony Loke on a commuter train for an official government program next Tuesday. However, Ghazi stated that his office has not yet received a formal invitation or program details from the Ministry of Transport.

I have no problem attending and will clear my schedule for this purpose. The implementation of this project is for the convenience of the people of Johor, not political cooperation.

Ghazi stressed that the project's implementation is for the benefit of Johor's citizens and not a political collaboration. He expressed that there should be no issues or doubts, differentiating between official government matters and political cooperation.

The Menteri Besar mentioned that he only learned about the invitation through media reports after being informally invited to a political event, the launch of the Negeri Sembilan Pakatan Harapan Election Machinery, on Monday evening. He expressed gratitude for the invitation, noting it was the first time the state government was invited, even though the program had been planned for over a week.

So there should be no problems or doubts. To me, official government matters and political cooperation are two different things.

Ghazi recalled previous ministry programs, such as visits to the CIQ, VEP announcements, and ETS Segamat visits, where he or relevant exco members did not receive official invitations. He also pointed out that during the Transport Minister's visit to the RTS Link site on April 3, the state government was not invited, but several Johor DAP leaders were present.

I am touched by this invitation, at least the state government is finally invited even though the program has been planned for over a week.

He reiterated that development projects belong to no single political party, including DAP. Instead, he stated, they are the responsibility of all entrusted parties who must remain professional to implement them for the people's benefit. Ghazi concluded by saying he awaits the official invitation and program details, and he will make time to attend.
