Onn Hafiz confident of defending Machap, calls for mature campaign

Johor Chief Minister Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi is confident in his ability to defend the Machap state seat in the upcoming 16th Johor State Election. He stressed the importance of a healthy, orderly, and civil campaign to ensure a smooth democratic process.

Ghazi noted that the nomination process for all 56 state constituencies proceeded smoothly. "Alhamdulillah, the nominations today went well and smoothly, and I have received information that the situation in all 56 DUNs is going well and smoothly. We pray that the next two weeks will also be in good and smooth condition," he stated.

He congratulated all candidates, urging them to compete healthily and with good conduct. Ghazi will face Pakatan Harapan candidate Nur Hafiz Roslan in his bid to retain the Machap seat. "In an election, anything can happen, so we will fight with all our might to get the people's votes. Insya-Allah," he added.

The Chief Minister's remarks came after submitting his nomination papers at the Simpang Renggam District Council Administration Complex.
