Ontario homicide suspect also faces charges for threats to Winnipeg business

An Ontario man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with a homicide investigation in Greater Madawaska, Ontario. Graham Mlodozenec, 52, was taken into custody by Winnipeg police on May 12.

Ontario Provincial Police responded to a call on May 6 in Greater Madawaska, where a 61-year-old woman was discovered deceased. Her death was subsequently ruled a homicide. Investigators uncovered a connection between the suspect and a business in downtown Winnipeg.

Winnipeg police were alerted that the homicide suspect might be in the city and possibly armed. Officers located Mlodozenec and his vehicle, seizing a shotgun, ammunition, additional weapons, and three jerrycans of gasoline. He was initially charged by Winnipeg police with multiple offenses, including uttering threats and weapons charges, before being transferred to OPP custody.

Mlodozenec, originally from Sudbury, now faces charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder of persons. He remains in custody in Ontario and is scheduled to appear in court on June 22.
