Ooni hails Okpebholo, Ododo for humility, good governance

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has lauded Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo and Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, characterizing their approach to governance as humble and focused on the needs of the people. The monarch's commendation came during a courtesy visit by the two governors to the Ooni's Palace in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

We are very honoured and privileged to receive the two governors in the palace. The entire Yoruba race is happy and delighted to have governors with such rare characteristics.

Oba Ogunwusi remarked that the governors' humility and simplicity set them apart from many of their peers, noting their ability to remain connected to ordinary citizens despite holding high public office. He stated, "These two governors are the most humble governors we have ever produced in Nigeria. Everything about them is humility and simplicity." The Ooni sees their demeanor as embodying the Yoruba concept of 'Omoluabi,' a term signifying a person of integrity, good character, and refined conduct.

Speaking on behalf of the visiting governors, Governor Ododo expressed gratitude to the Ooni of Ife for his contributions to peace and unity within Osun State and across Nigeria. He stated that their visit aimed to foster stronger ties and promote national cohesion, highlighting Governor Okpebholo's engagement with traditional institutions as part of his efforts to build partnerships for inclusive governance.
