Operation in Istanbul Seizes 62.9 Kilograms of Drugs

An anti-narcotics operation in Istanbul has resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of illicit drugs. Police confiscated a total of 62.9 kilograms of narcotics, including heroin and methamphetamine.

The operation was carried out by the Istanbul Police Department's Anti-Narcotics Crimes Branch, in coordination with the Intelligence Branch. The focus was on preventing drug manufacturing and trafficking, identifying, and apprehending suspects involved in these crimes.

During the operation, which targeted two locations and a vehicle in the Beylikdüzü district, law enforcement apprehended a suspect identified by the initials D.K. A search of the premises and the vehicle uncovered the substantial drug haul.

Specifically, authorities seized 34 kilograms and 850 grams of heroin, along with 28 kilograms and 50 grams of methamphetamine. The suspect is expected to be transferred to the courthouse to face charges of "manufacturing and trading drugs or stimulants" once administrative procedures are completed.
