Organisers defend venue decision

Organizers of the Crest Fiji Secondary Schools Netball Championship have defended their decision to host the event at Jai Narayan College, amidst criticism regarding the venue. The organizing committee highlighted the unprecedented number of participating teams this year as the primary factor influencing their choice.

Games Committee member Navitalai Naivalu explained that the record participation meant that no alternative venue across Fiji possessed the capacity to host the entire tournament. He suggested that critics overlooked the logistical challenges posed by the event's scale.

Naivalu's comments came after the championship experienced a premature end, implying that venue constraints may have contributed to disruptions. The defense of the venue choice underscores the difficulties organizers faced in accommodating the largest-ever field for the competition, emphasizing the need for facilities capable of handling such significant participation.
