Oriente Petrolero coach confirms Jairo Jean as priority, analyzes Bolívar match

Gustavo Florentín, head coach of Oriente Petrolero, has confirmed that Haitian forward Jairo Jean remains the club's primary target for strengthening their attack. Florentín is hopeful that Jean's contractual situation can be resolved this week, which would finalize the team's foreign player quota.

However, Florentín acknowledged the need for swift action, stating, "We cannot waste so much time. If his arrival does not materialize, we will look for other quick options." The coach also provided an update on goalkeeper Alejandro Torres, who is undergoing medical evaluation after receiving plasma treatment to expedite his recovery. Torres will travel with the squad to La Paz for the upcoming match against Bolívar, with his participation dependent on his condition the following morning.

Looking ahead to the crucial match against Bolívar, Florentín anticipates a highly tactical game, particularly given his personal relationship and tactical understanding with Bolívar's coach, Alejandro Restrepo. "It's going to be a very tactical game. We know each other mutually with Alejandro Restrepo, we are friends, and the times we have faced each other, they have always been tactical games," Florentín remarked. He expressed concern about the altitude in La Paz and its impact on player recovery, indicating that the final lineup would be decided just before the game due to the physical demands of their previous match.

Despite Oriente Petrolero's challenging historical record against Bolívar, having gone 12 matches without a victory, Florentín remains optimistic about reversing the trend. "There is a statistic that favors Bolívar. We will see if we can bring something favorable for us," he stated. His strategy for the game at the Estadio Hernando Siles focuses on strong defense, maintaining a clean sheet, and capitalizing on offensive opportunities. "We have to be defensively solid, keep a clean sheet, and be effective offensively. We may not have many chances, but we must convert the ones we can generate."
