The National Directorate of State Sanitary Works (OSE) in Uruguay has opened a call for applications for a consultant lawyer. This role is crucial for providing legal advice to the Management of Programs with External Financing (GPFE), supporting the execution of projects funded by international resources.

The position is based at the organism's central headquarters in Montevideo and requires a commitment of 36 hours per week. The monthly remuneration for this role is set at $160,000 Uruguayan pesos, plus VAT. The primary objective of the lawyer will be to ensure legal compliance with both local regulations and the requirements of international credit organizations involved in OSE's projects.

Key responsibilities include providing legal counsel on expropriation procedures, easements, and urgent possession. The lawyer will also attend judicial hearings, participate in the preparation and review of operational manuals, and draft legal reports related to acquisitions and contracts. This role demands a thorough understanding of local and international norms governing such processes.

To be eligible, candidates must hold a law degree from a recognized university and possess a minimum of one year of professional experience. This experience should be specifically in programs associated with international organizations. The role also requires geographical availability, including the capacity to work in Montevideo and travel frequently to various regions within Uruguay, often involving overnight stays. Additional qualifications such as postgraduate degrees in relevant fields or experience in public procurement and administrative law are considered non-exclusionary but advantageous.
