OSE opens new job call with a salary of $157,000: check the requirements

The National Administration of State Sanitary Works (OSE) in Uruguay has announced a job opening for a senior consultant specializing in hydraulic-environmental engineering. The position is primarily based at the organization's central office in Montevideo and comes with a monthly salary of $157,000, plus VAT, for a 40-hour work week.

This recruitment is part of the Sanitation Universalization Program in Uruguay, aimed at improving sewage and wastewater treatment infrastructure across the country. The program receives financial backing from Fonplata (Financial Fund for the Development of the River Plate Basin) to fund investments in expanding sanitation networks and treatment facilities in various towns.

The consultant will provide technical assistance to OSE's Sanitation Management. Key responsibilities include supervising the design of sanitary engineering projects, preparing monthly progress reports, participating in technical meetings, and reviewing sanitation systems and wastewater treatment plants. The role also involves drafting terms of reference for construction bids and preparing technical documentation.

Essential requirements for applicants include a degree in hydraulic-environmental or chemical engineering from a recognized institution, with foreign degrees needing revalidation. A minimum of 15 years of experience in similar studies or projects related to sanitation systems is mandatory. Candidates must also be available for periodic travel within Uruguay. Postgraduate studies or master's degrees in relevant fields, as well as experience in public sector water and sanitation projects, are considered advantageous.
