Osh Perinatal Center Construction to Conclude by End of 2028

Construction of a new perinatal center in Osh, Kyrgyzstan's southern capital, is progressing steadily and is slated for completion by the fourth quarter of 2028. The facility is being built on the grounds of the Osh Interregional United Clinical Hospital.

The project is financed through a substantial grant of 13.5 million euros from the German Development Bank (KfW). Representatives from KfW, along with a consulting firm and the general contractor, China Road, have provided updates on the construction's progress to the First Deputy Minister of Health, Tilek Mamadaliev. Currently, the project stands at 10% completion, with construction and installation work adhering to the approved schedule.

Once operational, the new perinatal center will boast a capacity of 249 beds. It is designed to offer specialized medical assistance to pregnant women, mothers during childbirth, and newborns. The center will be fully equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, also funded by KfW grants, ensuring high-quality care for the region's most vulnerable patients. Daily operations on the construction site involve between 30 and 70 specialists.
