Osun 2026: Deputy Senate President urges support for APC, citing need to join political mainstream

Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, implored the people of Osun State to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), in the upcoming election. Jibrin asserted that electing Oyebamiji would reintegrate the state into Nigeria's political mainstream, fostering development.

Speaking at the APC's grand campaign rally in Osogbo, Senator Barau identified two primary obstacles to Osun State's progress: a deficiency in effective leadership and the state's current political isolation. He emphasized that Oyebamiji possesses the necessary qualifications and background to harness the state's considerable natural and human resources.

What is needed at this moment is to elect APC’s AMBO, who has the requisite pedigree and the requisite background to harness these resources.

Senator Barau further explained that Osun State is currently isolated politically, with 31 other states governed by the APC. He also encouraged the electorate to avoid any actions that could incite crisis before, during, or after the election.
