Osun APC gov candidate fulfils N1m pledge to LAUTECH best graduating student

In a move underscoring the importance of academic achievement, Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Osun State governorship election, has fulfilled a N1 million pledge to Olugbenga Oladeji, the overall best graduating student at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology's (LAUTECH) 18th convocation. Oyebamiji presented the cheque to Oladeji at his office in Osogbo, also extending an offer of support for the graduate's future academic pursuits.

Oyebamiji, a former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, used the occasion to encourage youths, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, to remain focused and pursue their aspirations without fear. Drawing from his own experiences, he stressed that hard work and dedication are foundational to success. He expressed confidence in Oladeji's potential and assured that education would be a priority if elected governor, vowing to create opportunities for brilliant but indigent students.

He also acknowledged President Bola Tinubu's administration, referencing the NELFUND initiative as a crucial step in supporting education. Oyebamiji pledged to build upon the existing foundation for educational funding and other critical sectors.

Oladeji has shown us that if supported, Nigerian youths will excel. By the grace of God, when elected, we will build on the foundation that the President has laid regarding funding of education and other critical sectors.

Oladeji, accompanied by his mother, Mrs. Bisi Oladeji, shared how the Nigerian Education Loan Fund had been a life-changing intervention, enabling him to complete his studies. His mother expressed gratitude for Oyebamiji's timely support, recounting the family's reliance on loans and their unwavering faith during challenging times. She also commended President Tinubu's NELFUND initiative for providing much-needed relief to struggling students, illustrating the tangible impact of government programs on individual lives and aspirations.

This support came at the right time. There were moments we did not know how we would pay fees, but we kept trusting God and pushing forward.
